Ironstar Limited Warranty
Every remanufactured engine and transmission is covered by a 12-month / 100,000-mile limited warranty (whichever comes first) from the date of installation. Because Ironstar builds units but doesn't install them, coverage activates once installation is documented. Here's what that covers — and what keeps it valid.
What's Covered
Ironstar warrants each remanufactured unit to be free from defects in Ironstar's materials and workmanship, under normal use and service, for 12 months or 100,000 miles from the date of installation — whichever occurs first. If a covered defect occurs, Ironstar will, at its option, repair or replace the unit or component and cover reasonable removal-and-reinstallation labor up to Ironstar's published flat-rate allowance and hourly rate.
Activating Your Warranty
Ironstar doesn't install your unit, so correct installation by a qualified professional is a condition of coverage — and the reason coverage has to be documented. Your warranty activates only once Ironstar receives, within 30 days of installation, both of the following:
- A completed, signed Installation & Startup Verification checklist (provided with your unit), signed by the installing technician or facility.
- A copy of the installing facility's invoice showing the install date and work performed.
Installation must be done by a qualified professional diesel facility (not the owner, unless the owner is a qualified diesel technician), following OEM procedures and Ironstar's break-in instructions. If proper installation can't be documented, Ironstar may deny the claim — so keep this paperwork.
To Keep Your Warranty Valid
- Correct oil, coolant, filters, and fluids used, and maintenance performed on the manufacturer's schedule, with records kept.
- Cooling, fuel-delivery, air-intake, and oil systems inspected, serviced, and functioning; contaminated systems flushed.
- The unit operated within its rated capacity and specifications.
Before Any Repair
Contact Ironstar and obtain written authorization before any diagnosis or repair. Unauthorized repairs are not reimbursed. Ironstar may require the failed unit or parts to be returned for inspection.
What's Not Covered
- Anything arising from installation, startup, or commissioning — including improper or incomplete installation, failure to follow break-in, incorrect torque, or not servicing supporting systems. Without the completed verification checklist and installer invoice, installation-related coverage is void.
- Overheating, oil or coolant contamination, low oil, incorrect fluids, neglect, abuse, or overloading beyond rated capacity.
- Racing or competition use, accident, fire, freezing, tampering, or use of non-approved parts.
- Normal maintenance and wear items, and any component not supplied by Ironstar.
- Consequential or incidental damages, including downtime, lost revenue, towing, rental, lodging, or cargo.
Limitation of Liability
Ironstar's total liability under this warranty will not exceed the purchase price of the unit. This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
